Preston, a sophomore, was named to the US U-18 Men's National Team pool for 2008. In January, Preston joined the other members for 1 week of intense training at the IMG Academy in Florida. While there, the U-18s played the U-20 and U-17 teams and had some inter-squad games. In February, Preston also traveled to Barcelona Spain with the Region III Olympic Development Team where they played 4 games against top Spanish teams.
